BBC: GCSE Bitesize
Project description
Atticmedia were asked to tender for the re-development of the BBC's GCSE Bitesize design guides. It was felt the the existing brand of the bitesize fish was being diluted by the excessive creation of subject based fish.
The Logo Marque was simplified and grouped together to create stronger cohesion of brand elements (Logotype,strap line, fish and Keystage tab), the revised brand was intended to colour coded so as to tie in with existing content across a number of age groups.
In addition to the Logo marque additional brand elements including a typeface, speech bubble treatment and illustration style were created for the pitch as a means of introducing a cheeky sense of humor, suitable for the age group, to what could possibly be quite dry content.
In addition to the branding elements a set of design guidlines were to be created so that the BBC content producers would be able to quickly and easily add various types of content while ensuring visual cohesion through out the entire web site.
