Voipster
Project description
Voipster launched late in 2004 as an alternative to existing voice over ip networks like skype. Being late to market, the brief was to target the über geek demographic, comprising of hardcore gamers, technophiles and IT system administrators who were currentlly dissatisfied with existing VOIP services in the internet telephony marketplace.
We re-developed the brand to create a consistent identity with the flexibility of allowing different icons to speak directly to the various audience types. In addition to the logo treatment, a series of branded site skins and strap lines were created to further personalise site for individual users.
It was felt that a candy colour palette coupled with classic iconography and tongue in cheek imagery was on point for the target audience playing up to web2.0 early adopters.
